- Participates in the planning and delivery of team-based virtual research services (i.e. chat, text, email, and telephone).
- Creates and maintains library guides in Springshare LibGuides.
- Collaborates with faculty to integrate information literacy across the curriculum.
- Participates in and promotes workshops, events, and other programming relevant to Lamar University individually and collaboratively.
- Contributes to social media and develops exhibits/displays.
- Consistently participates in collaborative partnerships and relationships in the library, university, and surrounding communities events to promote library services and resources.
- Actively engages in university service, professional development, research, and publication/presentations to meet the promotion and tenure criteria of the Mary & John Gray Library faculty.

- Master's degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association (ALA) or from a program in a country with a formal accreditation process as identified by ALA.
- Library instruction and reference experience in a variety of formats in an academic library.
- Experience in the use and adoption of technological tools, such as social media and other emerging technologies and platforms, for the delivery and support of library services.
- Possess a record of scholarship, research, and professional service appropriate to appointment as a tenure-track faculty member.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of information resources in all formats, with an emphasis on digital resources.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies, trends in librarianship, information literacy theory and practice, and research, instruction, and research resources and services.
- Familiarity with software tools, such as online Microsoft Office applications, online catalogs, library-specific applications, such as the Springshare applications, and learning management systems, such as Blackboard.

About This Role:
The librarian is responsible for developing library guides and exhibits, providing research services, information literacy instruction, and other duties as assigned. In addition, the librarian will collaborate with colleagues on library-wide committees and projects to advocate for the research needs of Lamar University/Lamar Institute of Technology constituents.
