Job Role/Summary:
Serves as liaison between Grote Industries and its suppliers and subcontractors. Evaluates supplier's new technology and processes to enhance Grote product offerings. Drives supplier value engineering programs and process efficiencies to reduce acquisition costs. Leads suppliers and internal teams through formal problem-solving activities.
Identifies and audits suppliers to support Grote's purchasing, engineering, and quality needs; develops action plans to improve performance and follows through to resolution.
Maintains the Supplier Requirements Manual, the Supplier Performance Report, and initiates corrective actions when necessary. Helps facilitate the warranty process.Job Responsibilities:
Safety:
Responsible to follow all safety procedures and practices.
Quality:
Ensures and maintains supplier quality guidelines, procedures, and standards are consistently followed in support of Grote's quality system.
Responsibility & Customer-Focused:
Performs/participates in on-site supplier audits to qualify or verify supplier capabilities, processes and quality systems.
Works closely with Grote manufacturing, engineering and purchasing to improve supplied parts, components and subsystems.
Assists suppliers in implementation of appropriate Quality/Manufacturing tools to ensure quality products, on-time launches at full production approval, irreversible corrective action.
Reviews supplier submitted Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.Continuously assessing supplier-based risk and developing action plans to mitigate those risks.
Establish audit schedule for suppliers
Manage the supplier information regarding certification information.
Integrity:
Supports NPI process, procedures, and flow.
Identifies and qualifies strategic long-term suppliers to support overall business plan.
Follows risk mitigation plans through to resolution.
Respect & Family:
Interfaces with Grote operations, Quality, Purchasing and Engineering to determine supplier requirements, part/component requirements, specifications or tolerances and communicates those to the supplier.

Education, Experience, Training, Certifications and Licenses:
Degree or equivalent experience:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering or related field
MBA Preferred
Years of experience:
7-10 years of supply chain experience; automotive industry preferred
3-5 years of supplier contract negotiation experience
Training in:
LEAN principles, process improvement, waste reduction, 8D corrective action process
Certifications in:

Must be proficient in use of a personal computer including
Microsoft Office:
Word, Access, Project, Excel, data entry and graphical analysis.

Work at a highly motivated level with a sense of urgency and dedication to accomplishing tasks.
