My client is urgently seeking a freelance mechanical design engineer to assist with a construction project in Berlin.

They have been awarded a project for a pharmaceutical client who requires a refurbishment and extension of their current manufacturing plant.

The ideal candidate will create, draft, and design product layouts and schemes based on the client's specifications and recommendations. They will also test products and make necessary adjustments, as well as examine and resolve issues with broken products for future designs.

Responsibilities:

Plant Layout Design: Develop layout concepts and designs for the plant, taking into consideration equipment placement, material flow, process efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Equipment Specification: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and specify mechanical equipment and systems needed for the plant layout, ensuring compatibility with process requirements.

Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure the plant layout minimizes risks for personnel, products, and the environment.

3D Modeling and Simulation: Utilize CAD software to create 3D models and simulations of the plant layout, allowing for visualization and analysis of design alternatives and optimization of space.

Fluency in German and English is essential for this role.
