- Be a part of the founding team responsible for shaping the cloud offering of MapR's data platform
- Architect, design and implement scalable services to support a containerized deployment of the MapR Data Platform on the public cloud
- Set clear goals, project milestones, and engineering plans to ensure timely product delivery
- Working with a team of very talented engineers

- BS degree in Computer Science or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
- Experience designing and architecting applications for the cloud (Google Cloud Platform, AWS or Azure).
- Experience running large-scale distributed computing systems in a SaaS or PaaS environment
- Experience working with the cloud stack technologies such as containers (Kubernetes) and microservices is a plus
- Strong programming experience in Java, Scala or other JVM languages and a desire to be hands-on
- Past architecture experience with the following Big Data technologies is a plus: Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL Databases such as HBase
