About us

Sapphire Excurisons & Events is producing the premier Pride Community Event and Celebration Concert Fundraiser on June 9, 2024, in collaboration with its nonproft partners. Together with
Silicon Valley Rainbow Rotary, Oakland Rotary Clubs, and East Bay Getting to Zero our goal is to engage community, celebrate our uniqueness, and RAISE FUNDS to build the only
AIDS Memorial in Oakland, CA at Lake Merritt.


East Bay Getting to Zero is the project sponsor.


The goal of East Bay Getting to Zero is to create a coordinated and comprehensive approach to HIV prevention, care, and support services in the East Bay region, ultimately working towards the elimination of new HIV infections and the improvement of health outcomes for all community members affected by HIV/AIDS.


Our Rotary Partners are a member of
Rotary International District 5170. Overall, the goal of Rotary District 5170 is to empower its member clubs to make a positive difference in their communities and contribute to Rotary International's mission of advancing goodwill and peace through service. Silicon Valley Rainbow Rotary is the 2nd Cause-based club in the world to evaluate projects through an LGBTQ+ lens.


Sapphire Excursions & Events is the Event Producer.


Job Summary:

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as
Volunteers. We are looking for Event Planning Volunteers and Day of Event Volunteers.


As a Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact in our community and in the lives of those affected by HIV/AIDS.

This is an unpaid position that offers valuable experience and the chance to contribute to meaningful projects.


Responsibilities (based on volunteer role):


  • Assist with various tasks and projects as assigned by the organization
  • Sponsor registration and management
  • Exhibitor/merchant registration and management
  • Logistical planning team member
  • Day of volunteer
  • Communications with attendees
  • Participate in social media platforms and create engaging content to promote our initiatives
  • Help with volunteer management, including recruiting and supervising volunteers

Skills:


  • Strong desire to engage with community and a passion for helping others
  • Excellent public speaking abilities to effectively communicate our mission
  • Proficiency in social media management for promoting organizational initiatives
  • Knowledge of volunteer management principles and practices
  • Ability to supervise and provide guidance to volunteers
  • Experience in recruiting volunteers and building strong teams
