Description
The Laboratory Technician at Denton State Supported Living Center is responsible for performing various simple laboratory procedures, under the supervision of a ASCP registered medical technologist to individuals with intellectual disabilities.RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages.
Ø Perform computer data entry.
Ø Process and package specimens for transport to reference lab.
Ø Comply with facility Standard Operating Procedures to meet standards for accrediting agencies; specifically, ICF-IDD Regulations, DSSLC Policy and Directives and HHSC Standards, Rules and Directives.
REQUIREMENTS :
Ø Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent
Ø One-year of full-time phlebotomy work
Ø Possess valid Texas driver's license.
Ø Must comply with HHSC immunization requirements.
Ø Must submit to HHSC required drug test.
Ø Must submit to HHSC required fingerprinting.
Ø Must complete facility and HHSC required training.
