- Working in close partnership with gCS Director of Portfolio and Strategy, track specific project and resourcing statuses across respective focus areas

- Serving as the main interface between the matrixed groups and the leadership team(s), with the goal to better understand and align the computational needs of the departments.
- Supporting and implementing a robust and inclusive recruitment strategy to attract and provide suitable scientific and career development mentorship for outstanding talent at all levels- from group leaders through to early-stage career researchers
- Working across the gCS organization and across gRED to enable the seamless integration of computational scientists into molecule and clinical teams, and driving the 'lab-in-the-loop' model of scientific research
- Actively foster an inclusive and diverse departmental culture and support the overarching gRED Diversity & Inclusion strategy
- PhD, MD or PhD/MD degree in a relevant scientific field and demonstrated experience of managing a high performing group, focused on the development and application of computational approaches to problems in the biological sciences, in either industry or academia
- Demonstrated leadership skills; Outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Evidence of the ability to establish and foster key partnerships with collaborators from other scientific disciplines to ensure the robust application of computational methods to specific biological questions
- Experience of working in an interdisciplinary research environment
- Experience of managing large and complex projects, and teams, involving multiple stakeholders and achieving results in a timely and efficient manner

Strategic Leads within gRED Computational Sciences (gCS) Computational Biology and Translation (CBT) pillar hold critical roles on the CBT Leadership Team, and report directly to the VP of CBT.
A Strategic Lead is a well-established cross-functional and cross-indication leader, expected to drive critical gRED partnerships, align high level enterprise-wide strategies, provide functional oversight, and maintain span of control over highly matrixed teams of outstanding computational scientists.
The Strategic Lead will work with the Translational Medicine (TM) Oncology leadership to understand current and future priorities and to ensure alignment with gCS.
They will propose a resource allocation model, together with other members of the CBT LT, that balances the priorities of groups within TM Oncology with priorities across other parts of the pipeline and gCS priorities, including the capacity of computational researchers to develop their own projects.
Additionally, they will be responsible, together with individual group leaders, for assigning members of the CBT pillar to different Disease Areas.
