    JOB BRIEF


    The Research Assistant will provide research and support for the Religion and Inclusive Societies program within USIP's Center for Thematic Practice.

    Work Schedule: 20 hours per week during the academic year.

    Expected Project Dates:
    February May 2024


    Pay:
    $ per hour


    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Inform indigenous & peacebuilding project design and development through desk research and literature reviews.
    • Support the implementation and evaluation of various religious, indigenous engagement initiatives and religious/Indigenous literacy resources.
    • Monitor and periodically report on current events and state of the field in religion, indigeneity, peace, and conflict.
    • Support the development of key products such as reports, blogs/articles, and program descriptions by editing and verifying sources, etc.
    • Assist with designing and planning events (including roundtables and workshops) to enhance the visibility and success of RIS work.
    • Provide additional support as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Excellent research and writing skills.
    • Demonstrated interest in the field of conflict resolution and its intersection with religion, and Indigeneity.
    • Ability to translate complex themes, ideas, or data into compelling, accessible, and informative narratives and visuals.
    • Demonstrated international experience preferred.
    • Graduate student preferred.
    • Current enrollment in an academic program at a Washington Consortium member institution
    • Some previous research and office experience required
