- Department: Palliative Care
- Schedule: 5/8 hour days. Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00 PM, no weekends, no call or no holidays
- Hospital: Ascension St. John Hospital and Medical Center
- Location: Detroit, MI
- Obtain patient history and document consultation details, as pertinent to palliative care.
- Facilitate potentially difficult conversations with patients, surrogates and care teams.
- Guide and assist in symptom management, including but not limited to cancer related pain, shortness of breath, nausea/vomiting, etc.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including hospice, to facilitate goal-concordant patient care.
- Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
- Master's degree of Nursing required.
