Delaware County Community College is seeking a
Temporary HR Assistant in our Human Resources department.


The Human Resources Assistant performs a variety of administrative and confidential duties related to the day-to-day functioning of the department pertaining to employee services, including new hire onboarding, background screening, recordkeeping, employment verification, communicate with and respond to a variety of employee inquiries, assist with special projects, help plan/coordinate employee events, and provide general support to the HR team.


Essential Functions:


Overview of Job Responsibilities

  • Provide overall administrative support for HR office activities.
  • Provide administrative support to the onboarding of new employees.
  • Provide administrative and clerical assistance for the tracking of required background clearances and credential verifications.
  • Establish and maintain electronic personnel file system.
  • Audit/Revise I9 document maintenance and recordkeeping.
  • Escalate complex questions or concerns to supervision.
  • Light clerical duties to support the Human Resources office.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Education:


  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 12 years of work experience supporting a Human Resources function.
  • Proficient organizational skills, ability to manage multiple sets of data, possess followup skills and a responsive customerservice approach.
  • Exceptional ability to protect confidential and/or sensitive information and maintain integrity in record maintenance and work independently as well as in a team environment to meet individual and departmental performance objectives.

  • Act 153 Clearances (Act 34 PA Criminal Background History, Act 151 PA Child Abuse History, Act 114 FBI Clearance); Verification of educational credentials
