JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Program Director, the Family Engagement Specialist will support the Family Services programs in a positive professional manner resulting in a friendly, safe, convenient and courteous environment for families, community partners, volunteers and fellow employees.

The Family Engagement Specialist is responsible for welcoming and assisting all participants with becoming acclimated with the sites.


Essential Functions:


  • Greet and support intakes with families, as needed.
  • Maintain records and data collection as requested.
  • Participate and plan monthly events at the sites.
  • Support donations and assist with food pantry efforts.
  • Help support or facilitate weekly/monthly support groups.
  • Support all emergency shelter sites as needed.
  • Provide direct service to families and offer support to connect with community resources.
  • Provide training and attend as needed.
  • Attend all staff meetings and client meetings.
  • Maintain community resource list.
  • Maintain relationships and effective communication with program participants, volunteers, donors, board members, community partners, and funders.
  • Ensure all program standards are met in accordance with YMCA, DHCD, HUD, and other local, state and federal funding sources.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:


Education/Experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field.
  • Minimum of two years experiences in Human Services.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Programs
  • Valid MA Driver's License and approved driving record
  • Must be able to see, hear, speak, walk, and stand during the work day
