    Description

    Overview:

    Remedy Road Youth Services is recruiting foster parents to serve high-risk youth between the ages of Foster parents are responsible for the care, safety, and well-being of the child(ren) in their care. Foster parents play an integral part in providing youth with a safe space to work through their traumas and make behavioral changes that have a life-long impact. Remedy Road believes in parenting through partnerships and integrates biological parents in the healing process for the children served.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Ensuring the daily care, needs, and safety of youth are met
    • Running behavioral programs and submitting daily documentation and data
    • Ensuring medical needs are met to include regular medical/dental/vision appointments
    • Daily transportation
    • Participation in frequent meetings with Remedy Road Staff, case manager, GAL's and other stakeholders
    • Work as an advocate on behalf of the youth
    • Foster positive relationships with the youth's parents, siblings, relatives, and informal supports
    • Provide normalcy opportunities for the youth to include things such as participation in extra-curricular activities and maintaining cultural and community connections
    • Teach life skills and support a transition into adulthood
    Qualifications and Experience:
    • Training required and offered: 30 hours of Foster Parent TIP MAPP class, MADNT, Medication Aid, First Aid/CPR, Therap and other per-service training
    • Reliable transportation and valid drivers license
    • Ability to pass a BG check and APS/CPS check
    • Effective written and verbal communication
    • Experience working with at-risk youth or adults preferred
    • Support staff that is able to meet the above requirements
