Full-time Tenure Track Faculty Requirements: BHCC seeks full-time faculty who demonstrate a passion for teaching and a desire to join faculty and staff to expand and create new strategies for student success. Faculty must be experienced in teaching in learning communities, or willing to become proficient in learning community pedagogy and practice once hired, as well as be adept in the assessment of learning outcomes and in the use of technology in the classroom. Candidates should be passionate educators who can facilitate the needs of diverse 21st century learners. Additionally, BHCC seeks faculty who value advising students and wish to contribute fully to the life of the College. Faculty may be assigned courses at one or more of the College's locations.

Position Description: Full time instructor in the Behavioral Sciences Department. Responsible for the teaching and curriculum development of social work courses. The faculty member hired for this position also will serve as the Program Coordinator for our new Social Work program and will receive one course release per semester for this work.

Specific Duties:

Teach Introduction to Social Work and other Social Work courses. The successful candidate may be assigned to teach at any of the College's campuses or instructional sites
Engage students through a variety of high-impact teaching strategies and student development approaches that are culturally responsive to a diverse student population
Actively participate in department, division and college-wide initiatives such as, but not limited to: Learning Communities, LifeMap, the Center for Equity and Cultural Wealth, Open Education Resources (OER), and Community Engagement
Collaborate with faculty colleagues in the design, pilot, and evaluation of course and program learning outcomes
Continue to improve teaching practice and remain current in one's area of expertise by engaging in relevant professional development
Actively participate as a faculty member in the general College community and fulfill all duties as stipulated in the MCCC Collective Bargaining Agreement
Serve as the Program Coordinator in the administration of program curricula and development, budgeting, programming and events, and student advising under the direction of the Dean of Behavioral, Social Sciences & Global Learning
Work in conjunction with the Program Coordinator of the Human Services Program and the Career Development and Internships Office in the administration and management of internship sites and the coordination of internships for students

Job Requirements:

Master's degree in social work and LICSW
College-level teaching experience required.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated experience working with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
Demonstrated ability to teach in different modalities, including in-person, online, hybrid, and remote.
Experience in curriculum design and program development.
Experience in program administration and programming/events management.
Experience in student advising.

Preferred Qualifications:

Community college teaching experience
Knowledge and experience teaching in Learning Communities, implementing Service-Learning, Community Engagement and/or Place-Based Learning, integrating technology into the classroom, and other culturally inclusive pedagogies.
Experience in conducting outreach to internship sites and managing internship experiences for students.
Experience with multi-lingual environments

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $58,000.00-$68, Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
