Description
As a Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician (DIAT), you will perform destruction of data bearing devices (DBDs) and harvest parts and components of decommissioned devices per procedure.
You will also perform cycle audits, execute incoming/outgoing deliveries, coordinate security escorts for third-party vendors , and document inbound and outbound deliveries as instructed by management.
You will initiate warranty claims and process returns on failed equipment.This opportunity will allow you to build working knowledge of inventory management principles, warranty process management, data bearing device destruction, and advance your career in the process.

ResponsibilitiesSafety Practices
Complies with security and data management policies. Escalates any security or safety incidents. Coordinates with security escorts for third-party vendors.
Engages in Task Hazard Analysis (THA) consistently for every task to be performed and ensures sign off from appropriate person for any related risks.
Tactical Shift ManagementPerforms assigned tasks and escalates issues during high-volume work activity or escalation-based situations. Leverages process knowledge and best judgment to complete next task without direct supervision.
Inbound and Outbound Logistics
Coordinates, prepares, and executes incoming/outgoing deliveries (e.g. purchase order [PO] receiving, Rack Movement Supervisor [RMS] activities). Documents inbound/outbound packages.
Receives, confirms, tracks, stores, dispatches, and delivers material from the warehouse to destinations, including production facilities, retail stores, and corporate offices.
Applies appropriate customs documentations and standards for outbound packages. Ensures complete and detailed physical inventory tracking and staging.Customer Service
Maintains a focus to understand the impact of their work when completing tickets and assigned Inventory and Asset Management (IAM) tasks.
Builds working relationships with customers.
Identifies, coordinates, manages expectations, and offers alternatives when defining stakeholder solutions in light of ongoing company standards, operations, and procedures (e.g., schedule, technical feasibility, policy, procedure, tools).
Inventory Management
Maintains and stewards up-to-date and accurate logical information within various inventory management systems (e.g., configuration management databases, asset management repositories).
Warranty Process Management
Engages supplier to initiate warranty claim when automation is not available and processes the orders.
Processes failed vendor hardware devices using online/other tools, including information processing, packaging, shipment, and receipt of return for Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) devices.
Follows all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) related to RMA warranty process.Data Bearing Device (DBD) Destruction
Performs destruction of data bearing devices (DBD) following all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Microsoft policies as necessary. Ensures DBD serial number matches with database. Coordinates with and oversees any third-party vendors who perform DBD destruction as necessary.
Procurement
Notifies management about ordering stock shortages. Escalates any issues to management.
Operational Excellence
Follows procedures to contribute to plans to develop, build, and run methodologies. Ensures execution according to accepted procedures for consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of delivery.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma AND 6 months experience or an internship in inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or a related field
OR equivalent experience.
Ability to work 12 hours shifts, including shift assignments during non-standard business hours that may include evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ year(s) experience in warehouse/supply chain in an information technology (IT) environment, IT, and/or logistics, operating heavy-load movement equipment (e.g.
OR equivalent experience.
Materials Handling ATR-B - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $ $30.53 per hour.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $ $33.32 per hour.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $ $40.72 per hour.
