    Department Summary

    UNTHSC College of Nursing was created to help with the state's nursing shortage with the academic degrees needed most by area partners and employers to provide high-quality health care in the communities where we live and work.

    Position Overview

    The UNTHSC College of Nursing is looking for a Project Manager to join our team. The Project Manager will provide project management and support across the academic function of the College of Nursing. Their role is to take on the responsibility for projects within the College and foster an environment of accountability to deliver on project commitments. The Project Manager is in charge of planning, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting the project using various project management methodologies.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree and four (4) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • In-depth understanding of concepts and principals of project management.
    • Understanding of how project management integrates within day to day processes.
    • Ability to lead and direct teams on various projects at the same time and able to problem solve using judgment based on the analysis of information.
    • Developed interpersonal skills to exchange project information with multiple audiences.
    • Be a reliable team member with the ability to consistently perform tasks independently and as a member of a team.
    • Ability to manage projects in a way that inspires cross functional team members to stay engaged and deliver excellent results.
    • Demonstrated experience in executing plans and in monitoring and evaluating results.
    • Must have a drive to understand, embrace and advance organizational culture.
    • Must have strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
    • Ability to multitask.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must be an excellent listener and have strong interpersonal skills.

    Job Duties:

    • Use project management skills and tools to manage and/or support large, multifaceted projects and initiatives for the institution.
    • Support organizational quality management and process improvement programs.
    • May provide supervision and daily direction to assigned staff.
    • Facilitate meetings with senior leaders and stakeholders of the organization around critical issues.
    • Develop ad hoc reports, as needed, to support institutional initiatives and requirements.
    • Analyze data to develop and assist with the dissemination of reports, as requested by leadership including faculty specific, departmental, school, institutional, and systemwide that will guide decisions in the organization.
    • Facilitate organization wide surveys, analysis and writeup of project data.
    • Support process improvement initiatives by helping integrate project management concepts.
    • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; assist with preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; resolving problems; identifying trends; determining system improvements; assist with implementing change.
    • Other projects as assigned by supervisor.

    Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM
