Position Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible to the Manager of Aircraft Sales for all maintenance functions accomplished within the maintenance department.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for aiding the Manager of Aircraft Services with the Maintenance Technician evaluations and employee counseling and performance issues.
  • Responsible to assign qualified personnel to the jobs performed and ensure that all repairs are accomplished by approved methods and techniques and in accordance with the specifications set forth by the manufacturer in the service manuals, the Federal Aviation Regulations, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives and other data approved by the FAA administrator.
  • Responsible for planning, directing, supervising and coordinating the activities of their shop or area, so as to minimize delays and increase production and efficiency.
  • Ensure that all work accomplished will be completed in strict accordance with the manufacturer's maintenance and repair instructions and TITLE 14 CFR part 4
  • Responsible for training and assisting his subordinates in proper procedures, methods and practices to be followed in each respective duty. He is to assist the Director of Aircraft Services in selecting qualified personnel to attend factory maintenance training schools.
  • Exercise all reasonable care to protect all parts
- sub assembles; major assembles and completed units against loss or damage.

  • Ensure that all applicable repair station forms utilized by the service department personnel are properly completed.
  • The Maintenance Supervisor must exercise supervision over the working groups giving instructions to personnel placed under his supervision so that a maximum of work with consistent high quality is assured.
  • Ensure good housekeeping rules are observed and that all shopworking areas are kept clean and orderly at all times.
  • Ensure that proper tools and equipment are available and those tools are maintained in serviceable condition and ensure that any tool which is found unserviceable for any reason will be removed from service. He will be responsible for good housekeeping and will ensure that housing and facilities and safety precautions are adequate.
  • Ensure personnel are adequately trained and competent to perform assigned duties.
  • Ensure proper handling of parts and the preservation of all units or parts during the work process through the maintenance department.
  • Required to be thoroughly familiar with the requirements of the repair station manual, FAA Regulations, Airworthiness Directives and Advisory Circulars, Manufactures Service Letters/Bulletins and engineering orders.
  • Submits and tracks all parts ordered for each aircraft in maintenance and ensures the part is ordered for the correct delivery.
  • Has direct supervisory authority over the maintenance technicians.
  • Communicates with the maintenance technicians concerning expectations of work to be accomplished.
  • Ensure that all discrepancies are signed off with all the information completed, such as part numbers, maintenance manual, ATA and Chapter, etc
  • Displays and promotes a positive attitude toward work and other employees.
  • Use experience and technical expertise to assist when necessary to meet completion and production schedules and produce the quality our company has come to expect.
  • Assure that all safety precautions are taken and that available protection devices are properly used at all times when applicable to the tasks performed, in order to reduce the risk of possible injury and health problems resulting from performing assigned tasks.
  • Identify any employee's problems and concerns and deal with them, if unable to solve the problems, forward them to management.
  • Participates with management to strategize and implement new maintenance tactics.
  • Provide leadership and communication to subordinates and employees.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

Requirements:


Education:


  • Seven or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:


  • Seven or more years demonstrated experience in aircraft maintenance inspections and repairs.
  • Three or more years supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding in 135 and 145 repair station operations/regulations required.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Special Skills and Certifications:


  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required
  • Inspection Authorization Stamp (IA) required
