- Maintain bookkeeping databases and spreadsheets, updating information as needed
- Communicate with previous clients and customers to request payment and arrange payment plans
- Collect payment from customers and accurately record it into the system
- Create reports and balance sheets that document overall profits and losses
- Update client accounts based on payment or contact information.
- Researches billing disputes.
- Demonstrates knowledge of insurance processing guidelines and uses knowledge to explain EOBs and patient balances to patients.
- Initiates simple corrections on accounts when balances are incorrect.
- Escalates trends to supervisor.
- Escalates complex problem accounts to Patient Receivables Team .
- Receives calls from patients/guarantors to answer questions regarding their account.
- Uses applications and programs appropriately to communicate with various internal departments to obtain or clarify facts regarding patient care as it relates to billing and collections
- Makes outbound calls to guarantors to initiate collections on outstanding balances.
- Calls patients to follow up with results and answers that required time to research.
- Collects Patient Balances
- Exceeds monthly quota.
- Explains balances to patients, initiates payment plans and collects outstanding balances.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Medical collections and insurance experience preferred
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Possesses keen time management skills
