- Conduct meter reads and re-reads accurately and promptly using electronic handheld or mobile devices.
- Report damaged meters, broken locks, suspected gas leaks, and potential theft incidents. Identify and report atmospheric corrosion.
- Ensure all meters and risers are appropriately labeled with company decals and apartment numbers.
- Install, replace, and configure automated meter reading devices.
- Perform atmospheric corrosion surveys on above-ground piping.
- Undertake atmospheric corrosion remedial activities such as wire brushing and repainting.
- Execute other metering tasks including turn-offs and removals as necessary.
- Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Proficient in basic map reading and skilled in operating computers, communication devices, and relevant power tools.
- Ability to perform fundamental mathematical operations and possess good judgment in following complex instructions both verbally and in writing.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience related to the tasks and responsibilities of the role.
- Familiarity with the local geographic area.
- Operate a company vehicle for assigned job locations.
- Be willing to work in varying weather conditions and engage in extensive walking throughout the day.
- Handle encounters with dogs effectively.
- Be prepared to work overtime hours when necessary.
- Respond promptly to gas emergencies and business needs following divisional protocols.
