- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors including, negotiations with vendors on pricing, payment terms, and distributor contract between Company and the vendor; plus regularly meet with vendor representatives to assess current performance jointly to develop strategies for improvement
- Manage and maintain all distribution contracts, rebate, MDF contracts, and other agreements with our manufacturers
- Minimize obsolete, slow-moving and excess inventory via various methods including obtaining credits/stock rotation authorizations from vendors, discounting, liquidation and other means
- Work with sales and marketing to ensure products available for sale are those needed to meet market demand and are consistently stocked
- Approve pending purchase orders according to authority matrix-allowed levels or for new vendors
- Maintain and manage the MRP and the min/max ordering system
- Direct, measure and analyze all Purchasing and Inventory activities including supervising administration of weekly cycle count and analyzing results of cycle count adjustments
