    Description

    As Gannett Fleming continues to grow and expand, we are looking for a highly motivated Accounting Intern to join our corporate Finance team.

    In this role, the intern will be responsible for various tasks such as data analysis, research, problem-solving and preparing financial reports.

    This position offers the flexibility to work remotely for 30-40 hours per week. However, for candidates residing near a Gannett Fleming office, there is the option to work in-office.

    Gannett Fleming's Internship Program is a formal 10-12 week experience designed to fully immerse you in our culture.

    Emphasis is placed on mentorship and connection to peers across our Shared Services business line while you work alongside leading experts in the accounting field.

    Working closely with supervisors and mentors, you will have the opportunity to:


    • Job shadow and mentoring in most areas of the accounting field (payroll, tax, accounts receivable, accounts payable, employee expenses, fixed assets, project invoicing, etc.).
    • Assist with government and other tax filings (online and paper).
    • Work with various software program including data entry, recording and maintaining accurate records.
    • Work with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
    • Post journal entries and route vendor invoices.
    • Assist with audits, unclaimed property and pulling documentation.
    • Attend internal meetings to expand knowledge of the corporate accounting field.
    • Assist with special projects as needed.
    Minimum Qualifications


    • Enrollment in an accredited Accounting or Finance Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree program
    • Completed at least one semester of Freshman year
    • Strong analytical and computer skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
    • Enthusiastic and eager to learn
    • Ability to work in a team environment and independently; must be self‐motivated
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
