    Castle Connolly has recognized Axia Women's Health as the top Physician Practice in the United States focusing on Women's Health.

    McConnell & Associates OB/GYN, part of the Axia Women's Health Care Center, is in search of an OB/GYN Nocturnist/Laborist to join their well-established practice. The role involves covering 1 night per week, not every week, from 5 PM to 8 AM, 4 weekend days per month (8 AM - 8 AM), and occasional holidays.

    Affiliated with Main Line Health/Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, PA.

    Position Summary:

    The OB/GYN Nocturnist/Laborist offers comprehensive care to expectant mothers, conducts deliveries, and handles gynecological emergencies.

    • Provide obstetric and gynecological care to patients during shifts.
    • Conduct prenatal assessments, including routine check-ups and screenings, to monitor the health of pregnant women and their babies.
    • Attend deliveries and assist in the management of labor and childbirth, including performing necessary surgical procedures.
    • Evaluate and manage obstetric emergencies like preterm labor, preeclampsia, and fetal distress.
    • Assess and treat various gynecological conditions, including menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, and reproductive tract infections.
    • Perform surgical procedures related to obstetrics and gynecology, such as hysterectomies and tubal ligations.
    • Collaborate with healthcare professionals for holistic patient care.
    • Document patient encounters and medical histories accurately in electronic records.
    • Stay updated with advancements in obstetrics and gynecology through continuous medical education.
    • Follow ethical and legal standards in medical practice, ensuring patient confidentiality and informed consent.
    Qualifications:
    • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
    • Completion of residency training in obstetrics and gynecology.
    • Board certification or eligibility in obstetrics and gynecology.
    • Active Pennsylvania Medical license and DEA.
    • Demonstrated clinical competence in obstetric and gynecological care, including surgical proficiency.
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to engage with patients and healthcare team members.
    • Ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions in high-pressure scenarios.
    • Availability to work overnight shifts regularly, including weekends and holidays.
