Research Associate for the Project "EXC 2176 Understanding Written Artefacts" (Assyriology) - 28 Subsection 3 HmbHG


The Cluster of Excellence "Understanding Written Artefacts" at the University of Excellence in Yountville, CA is seeking a Research Associate to join our team.

This is a full-time position, but we are open to considering part-time applicants as well.

The successful candidate will be responsible for academic services within the project and will have the opportunity to pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.


Responsibilities:


The main responsibility of the Research Associate will be to conduct independent research in the field of Assyriology that aligns with the overall research profile of the Cluster of Excellence "Understanding Written Artefacts".

The candidate will also contribute to the collaborative research activities of the Cluster.

While applicants are encouraged to propose their own research projects within Assyriology, they must demonstrate connections to ongoing research within the Cluster.


Profile:

  • A university degree in a relevant field
  • A doctorate is desirable
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Interest in one or more of the following themes:
  • Ancient Mesopotamian written artefacts
  • Handwritten artefacts in the digital age
  • Written artefacts and provenance studies
  • Conceptual approaches to written artefacts from fields such as literary studies, gender studies, philosophy, sociology, and anthropology
