    About the job
    As the Planning Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing our supply chain and manufacturing operations.

    You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive planning strategies to optimize efficiency, minimize costs, and ensure the timely delivery of our products.

    The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in planning in discrete manufacturing assembly as well as experience with logistics, purchasing, and vendor relations, with a proven track record of success in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    Experience in a Class II Medical Device manufacturing is a plus.

    You will also be responsible for evolving our current planning processes and tools to support our rapid growth in manufacturing.

    You will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring staff, building effective teams, defining the function's Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), maintaining performance metrics, managing projects and meeting project deliverables.

    The nature of the work requires a strong analytical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multitask and be flexible with tasks and schedules, and the ability to work independently in a team environment.

    How you'll make an impact
    Develop and implement strategic planning initiatives to optimize inventory management, production scheduling, and supply chain logistics.
    Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, finance, sales, and quality assurance, to align planning activities with business objectives.
    Utilize advanced analytical tools and techniques to forecast demand and supply, analyze trends, and identify areas for improvement.
    Lead continuous improvement efforts to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
    Develop and maintain key performance metrics to track and evaluate the effectiveness of planning and operations processes.
    Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, providing insights into key performance metrics and actionable recommendations.

    Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in logistics, purchasing, and supply chain management, contributing to the ongoing evolution of Visby Medical's operational strategies.

    Support New Product Introduction (NPI) supply and demand planning for R&D and pilot manufacturing activities
    Monitor and evaluate employee performance. Provide coaching and feedback to develop / improve behavior and performance.
    Ensure your team's adherence to all policies and procedures for your area
    Demonstrate consistent leadership; operates with the highest level of ethics and self-accountability.

    On your first day we'd like you to have
    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or related field.
    8+ years of progressive experience in planning in a complex, high-volume, discrete manufacturing environment.
    2 or more years of leadership as a functional manager.
    Experience in a highly complex volume medical device manufacturing (cGMP) environment.

    Using Netsuite to plan demand, supply and production in a discrete manufacturing assembly environment.
    Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, coach and mentor direct reports.
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    Experience working in a fast-paced environment working with tight deadlines.
    Ability to proactively communicate consistently, clearly, with full transparency.
    Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and good organizational skills.
    Ability to multi-task and ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
    Proactive with high sense of urgency and a relentless drive for results.
    Unique aspects of this job
    Appropriate gowning procedures will be required (hairnet, safety glasses, cleanroom apparel/lab coats, gloves).
    May be required to work extended hours and weekends.
    May be required to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

    Salary Range:
    $125,000 - $152,000 (salary range for candidates based in San Jose, CA)
    Compensation for the role is based on geographical location.

    Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly.

    Compensation also depends on a number of factors including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
