- Fully support, configure, maintain, and upgrade corporate networks and in house servers
- Configure, install, and integrate routers, firewalls, and switches
- Install and integrate new server hardware and applications
- Keep an eye out for needed updates
- Support and administer third-party applications
- Ensure network security and connectivity
- Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses
- Assist as Tier II support to set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords
- Assist as Tier II support to resolve problems reported by end users
- Define network policies and procedures
- Specify system requirements and design solutions
- Research and make recommendations on server system administration
- Assist as Tier II support for 2-way radio programing
- Cell phone /VOIP phone configuration
- Prepare and maintain documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts
- Introduce users to office productivity applications
- Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery plans
- Perform analysis of network needs and contributes to design of network architecture, integration, and installation.
- Hands on experience in networking, routing, and switching
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
- Ability to set up and configure server hardware
- Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
- Great at organizing, prioritizing, and multitasking

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment on the shipyard. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Routinely, there will be a need for the incumbent to work/walk Lyon shipyard and all areas therein.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. This position periodically requires long hours and or weekend work. Regular and predictable on-site attendance is an essential function and a prerequisite to perform other essential functions of the position. TravelTravel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience
