    Summary

    The Product Manager is the key owner and liaison though all functional areas of AI for content as a product. This position works with engineering, product and commercial product to determine how and where we want to focus our use of AI within our content. They will work to ensure the architecture of our content is created to best interface with these tools for our creators and our customers.

    This position will work with the Director to define standards and centralize processes to allow for content to be structured appropriately enabling AI tools to consistently deliver relevant content to our customers as they need it. The Product Manager will work with prompt engineers to maintain a prompt library for use within our teams to create assessments, supplements and images and other content. The Product Manager AI for Content is accountable to deliver high quality, commercially successful, efficient workflows for digital content used across our platforms.

    The Candidate: You are a highly skilled and motivated Manager of AI for Content and want to lead our efforts in utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to produce, review, and edit content for use across various platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both educational content creation/editing and AI technologies, with a passion for driving innovation and efficiency in content production processes.

    As a core member of the Product Content Operations team, you will be expected to work autonomously and deliver project phases on time and on budget. We will help you achieve your goals by continuous professional development and regular progression sessions. You will work with global teams and thus may occasionally work off to accommodate other time zones.

    Responsibilities:

    Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for leveraging AI technologies to optimize content creation, review, and editing processes.

    Tool Evaluation and Selection: Work with technology teams to research, evaluate, and influence selection of AI tools and platforms that align with our content goals and requirements. This includes content generation, natural language processing, sentiment analysis, and other relevant AI capabilities.

    Integration and Implementation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure AI is integrated seamlessly into our content production ecosystem. Ensure proper implementation and customization of AI solutions to meet or exceed the specific needs of our content teams.

    Standardization, Testing and Optimization: Design and oversee testing protocols to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of AI-driven content creation and editing. Continuously iterate and optimize AI algorithms and models based on feedback and performance metrics.

    Quality Assurance: Work with the Courseware Quality Assurance team to establish quality standards and guidelines for AI-generated content. Develop processes for reviewing and editing AI-generated content to ensure accuracy, coherence, and compliance with brand guidelines.

    Team Leadership and Training: Provide guidance, training, and support to enable team members to effectively leverage AI technologies in their work.

    Collaboration and Communication: Foster collaboration and communication across departments, including content, technology, and data science teams. Serve as a liaison between content creators/editors and AI specialists to facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration.

    Stay Current with Industry Trends: Keep abreast of the latest developments in AI technologies, content creation/editing tools, and industry best practices. Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in our AI-driven content strategies.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, linguistics, communications, or a related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.

    Proven experience in educational content creation/editing, preferably in a digital publishing or media environment.

    Strong understanding of AI technologies, including natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, deep learning, and neural networks.

    Experience with AI tools and platforms such as GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer), BARD, OpenAI, API, etc.

    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

    Strong project management and leadership abilities, with the ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

    Creative thinking and a passion for exploring innovative approaches to content creation and editing using AI technologies.

    Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

    The minimum full-time salary range is between $120,000 - $140,000.
