Responsibilities
The Gastroenterology nurse practitioner (GI NP) works as a member of our gastroenterology team to help deliver quality care to our patients.
The GI NP will practice under the supervision of the GI attending physicians, in a comprehensive GI office and hospital-based practice and assist with procedures, as necessary.
The GI NP is involved in the total care of the Hospital gastroenterology patient from admission to discharge and outpatient follow up.
They assist with evening and weekend call, as needed.
Perform gastroenterology consultations (inpatient)Follow up gastroenterology patients (inpatient and outpatient) Contact patients with lab and test results as needed Performs other related assigned duties.
Qualifications
Possession of a current valid license to practice nursing in New York State, Master of Science Degree.
Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State with at least one (1) year experience. Gastroenterology experience preferred. Spanish speaking preferred.
