Job Summary:


The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections (ADJC) is seeking Human Resources Analyst Intermediate (working title: Benefits and Leave Coordinator) under the direction of the Employee Relations Manager, who will be responsible for administration of agency Absence Management programs such as Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

Including approval/denial of requests, assist in the coordination and finalization of requests for reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disability Act (ADA); Donations of Annual Leave (DAL) requests, Workers Compensation and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Tuberculosis (TB) Testing Program.

Job Duties:


  • Worker's

Compensation Program:
responsible for providing guidance and explaining procedures and processes and personnel rules in relation to industrial leave; agency liaison between ADOA Risk Management and ADJC

  • OSHA: responsible for maintaining the tracking for all work related injuries and illnesses for Loss Prevention to complete the reporting to the Department of Labor and information to BLS
  • Leave Without Pay: responding to customers by providing training and guidance related to the procedures and processes; maintaining quality control; and researching policy changes
  • Maintain employee medical files; manages the tracking of employees out on extended medical leave; process requests for modified duty/temporary work assignments due to medical restrictions; process return to work clearances
  • Coordinating Central Office/Community Corrections employees for TB testing and ensuring confidentiality of forms and results for the department
  • Advises management and employees with guidance/rule interpretation as it relates to ADOA Personnel Rules, ADJC Policies and Procedures. Federal and State Laws, and applicable statutes
  • Provides service to management and employees related to Family Medical Leave Act, Special Status Leave, Donations of Annual Leave, Workers Compensation and OSHA, TB Testing and DAL requests
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge of:

  • Professional level Human Resources practices and procedures; State Personnel Rules and regulations; Federal and State Personnel laws and regulations governing Workers Compensation claims and OSHA

Selective Preference(s):


One (1) year of experience as a Human Resources Analyst OR two (2) years of experience in professional personnel work.

A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Personnel Management, or closely related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional personnel work experience.
