- Support NoSQL databases from development to mission-critical production systems.
- Help determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards.
- Creates/maintains backup and recovery strategies on Database Management Systems
- Monitor backups and maintenance jobs.
- Identify and tune badly performing queries.
- Provide assistance with ad-hoc query development and data analysis.
- Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data.
- Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses.
- Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users.
- Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity.
- Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
- Good knowledge of Instance, database and query tuning to improve the performance of the database/application
- Experience with query/programming languages such as PL/SQL, Access SQL, Python
- Oracle database experience preferred
- Strong foundational on Infrastructure/Networking as it relates to understanding protocols used to connect the network to their databases.
- Strong interpersonal skills and written/oral communication skills to work effectively with business partners, peer IT resources, and all levels of management
- Ability to reason logically analyze and evaluate performance data and information, and draw appropriate conclusions
- Eager and excited to learn niche database administration skills
- Bachelor's or Associates Degree preferably in Computer Science, MIS, or any related field
