- Assists senior department management in organizing and delegating the responsibilities and duties of the line staff. Administers corrective action according to company guidelines and in conjunction with next level supervision.
- Assists employees with work process problems.
- Examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Works with Human Resources to interview, select, and train employees to fill vacant positions. Assists in annual preparation of performance evaluations for departmental staff.
- Reviews and verifies daily timekeeping in current timekeeping system.
- Provides innovative solutions to improve safety, quality and productivity.
- Participates in team meetings.
- Prepares daily and weekly production report.
- Provides any reporting and tracking required by Production Manager.
- Analytical skills with a methodological approach to problem solving and implementation.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret related documents.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent follow-up and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work independently with little direction.
- High school diploma, technical school or GED required. An Associate's Degree preferred.
- Two years experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment required. Previous leadership experience preferred.
