    SUMMARY:

    The Guest Experience Volunteer at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science (Frost Science) will work alongside the Guest Experience team to assist staff by welcoming guests, helping guests with directional and general information, and aiding Guest Experience staff in the exhibit galleries.

    The Guest Experience Volunteer must be able to commit to at least 100 hours and be available a minimum of 4 hours a week between 10AM-7

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Welcome guests to the museum.
    • Answer guests questions related to directions, shows and general information to help ensure guests have a positive experience.
    • Assist Guest Experience staff in the exhibit galleries by helping to direct visitors through specific experiences or by aiding with seating for Planetarium shows.
    • Receive training and gain knowledge around the content specific to the exhibit galleries.
    • Assist staff with evaluations to collect visitor feedback.
    • Assist with the training of other greeter volunteers.
    • Assists with enforcing company safety policies.
    • Perform all assigned tasks.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Interest in science and Frost Sciences mission.
    • Strong oral communication skills.
    • Reliable and punctual, with good attendance.
    • Must demonstration an enthusiastic and friendly attitude at all times, focused on guest satisfaction.
    • Ability to work well with different personalities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to problem-solve and be resourceful.
    • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) or (English/Creole) preferred.
    • Experience in customer service a plus.
    • Must be 16 years or older.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear Daily tasks require variety of physical activities, related to walking, standing, stooping, sitting, and reaching.


    The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

    The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds on select occasions. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, move quickly from space to space to assist guests. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus


    WORK ENVIRONMENT


    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those as employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

    The working environment is both the interior and exterior spaces of the museum. Must be able to work for extended periods of time in elements such as sun, rain, heat, wind, etc. Exposure to outdoor activities is often requested.
