    Systems Engineer

    Location:
    Long Beach, CA


    Hourly rate:
    $ $69.00


    Contractor benefits:
    Medical, Vision, Dental, 401k, Hybrid schedule

    Hybrid:
    Tuesday through Thursday onsite.


    This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    Airworthiness principles, tools, and techniques to a continuing series of upgrades and improvements to the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft.


    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • 3+ years of experience in a dedicated Systems Engineering role.
    • Experience with Systems Engineering tools.
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Apply Systems Engineering principles, tools and techniques to the Design, Technical Documents, Testing, and Certification of aircraft.
    • Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area. This includes the ability to see and understand the inter-relationships between components of systems and plans, anticipate future events, and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance.
    • Knowledge of aircraft systems, components, and loadable/non-loadable software.

    Skill and ability to:
    collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.


    • Knowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures, including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Ability to assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance.
    • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
    • Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
    • Resolves cross-functional technical issues.

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • 1+ years of experience applying systems engineering principles during the development of complex hardware/software solutions on an aerospace platform.
    • 1+ years of experience assisting in any of the following engineering areas: analyses for cyber security, requirements analysis, requirements management, design review process, risk management, airworthiness certification, or any other specialties engineering discipline.
    Must be U.S. Person for purposes of Export Compliance.
