    Today's aircraft contribute around 2.5% of global CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of 200 million cars.

    This is only going to increase:

    Air travel is forecasted to double by 2050, while meaningful efficiency gains using current airplanes have hit a wall.

    JetZero is developing a blended wing aircraft. It uses 50% less fuel and can accommodate zero-emission hydrogen propulsion. JetZero is the inevitable solution to sustainable air travel.

    This is why we're hiring a Systems Engineer. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining Systems Engineering Processes and Deliverables. This position requires experience across all aspects of System Engineering.
    JetZero is a place for people who are ambitious, talented, and humble. This role is based in Long Beach, CA reporting to the Head of Systems Engineering.
    What You'll Do

    Support Development of Safety Processes in accordance with SAE ARP4761 and ARP4754A
    Develop Safety Assessments such as Functional Hazard Assessments (FHAs) and System Safety Assessments (SSAs) as defined in SAE ARP4761.
    Assign Function Development Assurance Level (FDAL) and Item Development Assurance Level (IDAL) to systems based on Safety Assessments.
    Derive and manage Safety Requirements.
    DevelopFault Trees Analysis using CAFTA software.
    DevelopFailure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Common Cause Analysis (CCA)
    Coordinate with System/Subsystem SMEs to generate System Level Safety Assessment development.
    Coordinate and communicate with FAA and EASA.

    Experience Familiar with:
    SAE ARP 4754A and ARP4761 Industry Standards
    FAA Part 21 Regulations
    FAA Part 25/EASA CS-25 Aircraft Regulations
    RTCA DO-160G, DO-178C, DO-254, DO-331
    Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited university.

    5-10years experience in Systems Safety Engineering in the Aerospace Industry

    Experience with software tools such as CAFTA, Siemens TeamCenter, SiemensNX, CAMEO, MATLAB Simulink, MATLAB System Composer, and MS Office Products preferred.

    Salary Range:
    $100,000 - $140,000
