Description
We are looking for an Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to work with our client's construction and upgrades to their nuclear power plant, systems and processes.
You will be able to understand the current processes and machinery, develop change packages to upgrade/modify those processes/machines, create estimate & schedule for the project, perform the detailed design in compliance with standards set by customer, support procurement team, installation oversight, project documentation, and completion of closeout of the project.
You will also ensure that the project is compliant with International standards and industry best practices.US Citizenship or Green Card required; Must live or have ability to relocate near Columbia, SC
Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems to support operations and manufacturing process.
6-10 years of progressive experience working in Chemical manufacturing or related industry.
Good understanding of control system architecture and software. Knowledge in multiple PLC and DCS systems such as Honeywell Experion, Allen Bradley, GE, Siemens preferred.
Develop Controls Logics & HMI in DCS/PLC as per customer requirement.
Preparation and review of Instrumentation Datasheets, Hookup drawings, field wiring, JB Layouts, CBD, Instrument list, and P&ID's.
Develop specifications for instrumentation & control systems, field instruments, electrical power systems, equipment and motors.
Design, develop, implement and trouble shoot control systems across the plant.
Evaluate equipment/material vendor technical quotes for specification compliance including preparation of technical bid evaluations.
Define submittals, create project estimate & schedule in alignment with the overall project schedule.
Design of local enclosures/control panels.
Develop single line diagrams, electrical schematics, and electrical load lists.
Oversee and manage the technical interface, scope of supply and schedule of the electrical and I&C equipment supplier and installation in the plant.
Specify and evaluate electrical engineering services for the design of electrical powers systems, cabling, lighting, HVAC, motor control centers, HV, MV and LV switchgear, transformers, power generators, motors, variable speed drives and UPS.
Work with operations and maintenance team to understand the current processes, machinery and develop change packages to upgrade/modify those processes/machines, perform the detailed design, support procurement and project execution.
Minimum requirements:
Bachelors in Electrical / Instrumentation & Controls Engineering or a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
Six (6) to ten (10) total years of demonstrated, applicable experience in process, chemical and/or manufacturing plants, with demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering problems.
Good working experience with NEC, and NFPA 70E.Developing Control Logics & graphics in DCS\PLC.
Equipment and Instrument selection according to project requirement.
Ability to plan and organize work tasks and meet deadlines.
US Citizenship or Green Card required; Must live or have ability to relocate near Columbia, SC.
