Salary range:
$55,000 - $61,000 annually, benefits-eligible. (Full-time) regular fiscal appointment

This is a grant-funded position. Continuation is contingent on future grant funding. This position is expected to run for two consecutive years. The second-year renewal is contingent upon satisfactory progress and contribution to the collective program.


Essential duties

  • Manage and supervise husbandry and maintenance of a small zebrafish colony.
  • Conduct behavioral and sensory experiments on zebrafish, including design, data collection, training and supervising of a team of student researchers.
  • Organize, store, analyze, visualize, and interpret scientific findings.
  • Contribute to collaborative projects and take the lead on writing scientific articles to report experimental results.
  • Collaborate with project leadership team to guide research directions and coordinate efforts.
  • Coordinate and direct outreach activities associated with project research, including close collaboration with Arizona Game and Fish scientists.
  • Travel to meetings to present results.
  • Be an active member in research group activities (e.g., participate in lab meetings, mentor students).

Qualifications:


Minimum qualifications:


  • Must have strong experimental skills.
  • Must have the capacity to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
  • A strong record of scholarly achievement.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with faculty, staff, students and communities to advance the principles of ASU Charter.

Desired qualifications:


  • Experience with behavioral and sensory experiments, zebrafish, transcriptome analyses, or aquatic fieldwork, and who prioritize inclusion while mentoring student researchers and developing innovative outreach efforts.
