    JOB TITLE: Early Childhood Intervention Specialist

    ABOUT THE JOB
    The Early Childhood Intervention Specialist is a vital role within the Center for Teaching and Learning/Early Childhood Education program area. If you have the right qualifications and passion for working with at-risk, typical, and disabled students, this role might be a great fit for you.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Must meet ODE's requirements for a dual licensed teacher of a preschool integrated class: Prekindergarten License, Early Childhood License (P-3), Primary License (P-5) with license/endorsement in Prekindergarten Special Needs or Early Education of the Handicapped
    • Elementary License or Intervention Specialist License with Prekindergarten Special Needs or Early Education of the Handicapped
    • Early Childhood Intervention Specialist License (P-3) or Primary Intervention Specialist License (P-5)

    JOB SUMMARY
    The Early Childhood Intervention Specialist will be responsible for planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate public preschool program tailored to the individual education needs of each student. Additionally, this role involves conducting parent involvement activities.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    - Develop and implement a preschool instructional program aligned with Ohio's Early Learning and Development Standards
    - Prepare daily curriculum plans and implement individual education plans (IEP)
    - Assess student progress and utilize assessments to support daily programming
    - Maintain a safe classroom environment and report safety concerns
    - Establish effective communication with parents and caregivers for teacher/parent partnerships
    - Participate in IEP meetings and transition meetings
    - Maintain accurate student records and collect data to evaluate program effectiveness

    ADDITIONAL DUTIES
    • Dispense medications after designated training
    • Act as a resource person for classroom teachers
    • Seek opportunities for professional growth

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
    - Knowledge of educational standards and practices
    - Proficiency in computer applications
    - Ability to maintain accurate records and communicate effectively
    - Skill in counseling and family intervention
    - Ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
    While performing duties, the employee may:
    - Stand for periods of time, move around the work site, and sit at a desk
    - Lift and move materials up to fifty pounds
    - Operate technology devices and communicate effectively
    - Work in various environmental conditions

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
    • Remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance at the workplace
    • Complete a satisfactory background check
    • Possess a valid driver's license
    • Review ESC Staff Handbook and Board Policy for job expectations

    PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
    Evaluated by the Early Childhood Supervisor or Early Childhood Program Consultant

    CONTRACT
    Contingent upon funding availability, determined by ESCLEW governing board, subject to board policies and procedures

    SALARY
    Based on experience and education
