- Maintains a positive, collaborative culture within the City organization
- Patrols assigned areas to deter and detect illegal activities
- Responds to dispatch calls, investigates incidents, and conducts preliminary investigations
- Enforces laws, issues summons, makes arrests, and prepares reports
- Testifies in court when required
- Assists in medical emergencies and with other law enforcement agencies
- Establishes effective relationships with citizens and co-workers
- Conducts maintenance on patrol vehicles and equipment
- Participates in crime prevention programs and public speaking engagements
- Attends training courses to stay updated on policies and procedures

Job Opening: Police Officer II at Fountain Police Department
Summary: As a Police Officer II, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of citizens and property in Fountain by preventing, reporting, investigating, and analyzing crimes within the city limits.
General Purpose: The main goal of this position is to protect lives, safety, health, welfare, and property through the enforcement of municipal, state, and federal laws. The POII role requires a higher level of experience compared to the POI position.
Essential Functions:

Tools and Equipment Used: Involves handling various machines, tools, and equipment with judgment
Physical Demands: Requires medium work involving physical exertion on a regular basis
Work Environment: Involves exposure to various conditions, including outdoor and indoor environments, temperature extremes, loud sounds, and emergency situations
Minimum Qualifications:
Police Officer II: Three (3) years of law enforcement experience and relevant certifications
Certificates or licenses:
Communication Requirements: Ability to read technical instructions, compose reports, and speak effectively
Judgment Requirements: Involves significant decision-making and policy development
Complexity of Work: Requires problem-solving, attention to detail, and exposure to unusual pressures
