    Hybrid - Growing CPA firm in Indy looking for a strong Tax Manager

    This Jobot Job is hosted by: Small CPA firm founded in 1991, focused on individual tax preparation, small business accounting and consulting in various industries, primarily serving central Indiana and other parts of the U.The firm values forming close relationships with clients and maintaining high quality service, which is why it remains small by choice and relies heavily on referrals.

    As a small firm, the tax manager would get to know clients well and provide personalized service.

    Variety of work - While focused on tax, the firm serves individuals as well as small businesses across various industries.

    This could provide an interesting variety of tax situations and clients for the tax manager.
    Quality over quantity - Firm intentionally stays small to maintain high service quality standards.

    Trust and responsibility - In a small firm, the tax manager is likely to have a lot of client responsibility and potential for becoming a trusted adviser to those clients.

    Growth opportunities - As the firm is now on its second generation of ownership, there may be advancement rungs for a talented tax manager to potentially grow into firm leadership over time
    With the firm now under second-generation leadership, your outstanding work could propel you into the partnership fast track. Prior "Big 4", National or Regional accounting firm experience preferred.
    ~Experience with ProSystem fx Tax and Engagement, CCH, RIA, BNA and other tax preparation / research software.
    ~Bachelor's in Accounting
    ~At least 5 years of experience at a public accounting firm with a heavy focus on corporate and partnership federal and state / local income

    Our ideal candidate is expected to have extensive knowledge in corporate tax return preparation, tax planning and tax research.

    The Tax
    Manage all tax engagements to ensure meeting of all compliance and other deadlines
    ~Prepare and/or review individual, corporate and partnership tax returns of varying complexities
    ~Prepare and/or review quarterly and year-end estimates to assist clients with tax planning
    ~Responsible for engagement planning, organization, and delegation to maximize efficiency, achieve quality goals, maintain productivity, and

    Responsible for engagement economics including billing, collecting, and maintaining profitability of the team.
    ~Educate and train staff and assist in the growth and development of the Firm's professional team members.

    At least 5 years of experience at a public accounting firm with a heavy focus on corporate and partnership federal and state / local income

    taxation, including current or recent hands-on tax compliance work experience with a Regional or National accounting firm.
    ~In-depth knowledge in and extensive experience with tax provision preferred
    ~Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
    ~Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills.
    ~Prior "Big 4", National or Regional accounting firm experience preferred.
    ~Experience with ProSystem fx Tax and Engagement, CCH, RIA, BNA and other tax preparation / research software.
    ~Bachelor's in Accounting
