Summary This position is part of the Office of the Project Manager, Strategic Petroleum Reserve, Department of Energy.As a Inventory Management Specialist, you will serve as a senior Inventory Management Specialist for property accountability and supply program management in support of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve Project Management Office (SPRPMO).
Responsibilities As a Inventory Management Specialist, you will:
Oversee the day-to-day inventory accountability operations of SPR crude oil, heating oil, and gasoline inventory reporting system and revises as necessary.
Oversee Department of Energy (DOE) and contractor efforts to collect, classify, compile, report, and evaluate accountability data. Provide guidance, expert advice, instruction, and training to field personnel on the documentation, recording, and reporting of inventory transactions. Perform annual terminal/pipeline assessment surveys, coordinate lease payment receipts, and coordinate any/all aspects relating to the DOE leased facilities.Ensure that the strategic plan, mission, vision, and values of the Division, as well as the Department, are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work product and services.
Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level 12 in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following:Evaluating the effectiveness of current tools, policies, and processes. Utilizing supply management principles practices and techniques with emphasis on the acquisition and distribution of inventories in bulk quantities. Skill integrating data to develop information, options, and procedures to resolve difficult and long-standing problems.
Conducting assessments of industrial relations functions, programs, and systems of contractor organizations through recurring and special projects, review of audit findings, and on-site reviews.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience.Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include:
volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations.
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
