- Serve as a technical specialist and consultant to the transportation engineering discipline on transportation-related projects.
- Designs roadway geometric horizontal and vertical alignments.
- Designs road striping.
- Prepares construction items quantity estimates and basic opinion of cost analysis.
- Contribute to the preparation of traffic engineering studies and reports.
- Project design engineer on local municipality transportation projects.
- Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of reports and project design elements including plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Produce detailed, high-quality final design plans, specifications, and estimates in accordance with applicable procedures and standards.
- Utilizes CAD software in development of two- and three-dimensional models of roadway design.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in California, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of civil systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, locally accepted hydrology and hydraulic programs, etc.)
- Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Stantec is looking for a Project Engineer to join our California Central Coast team. We have local offices located in Santa Maria, Santa Barbara, Thousand Oaks, Bakersfield, and Fresno. Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave.
