    Description

    As a Software Development Manager, you'll be managing engineers in cross-functional product team(s) delivering new features to our client base of property managers and housing associations. The Software Development Manager position is a multifaceted role having responsibility for providing a technical vision for engineering teams and ensuring the teams are successfully executing on projects while being a motivating leader.     PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Be a positive influence for the engineering department by promoting a culture of innovation within the group, nurturing new ideas, and growing and supporting engineers through management.
    • Meet weekly with engineers that report to you to give direct feedback, guide them in career development and work through engineering challenges.
    • Ensure team(s) have the resources they need to deliver projects by communicating within the department, working with engineering leadership and escalating when necessary.
    • Accountable for continued delivery of the team(s) ensuring high quality work that aligns with Buildium's overall product and engineering strategies.
    • Work closely with product managers and User Experience leaders to aid team(s) in making and communicating sound trade-off decisions.
    • Be a key influencer in the research and implementation of new technologies, tools, and architectural patterns for the department through participation in and sponsorship of guilds, focus groups, and tech talks.
    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
    • 10+ years of experience in developing customer-facing software with responsibilities ranging from project planning to successful delivery of key features
    • 2+ years of experience in engineering management with 5 or more direct reports.
    • Hands-on expert level experience with C#, .NET 4.x/.NET Core 6+, ASP.NET MVC/Web API, microservices and JavaScript frameworks like Angular, React, and/or Vue
    • Extensive experience creating and consuming REST web services and APIs
    • Strong relational database skills using technologies like MySQL, SQL Server or Postgresql
    • Familiarity with AWS services and infrastructure
    • Understanding of source code management tools such as Git, and the workflows associated with them (branching and merging)
    • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience #LI-JL1 #LI-REMOTE
