At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth.

We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion.

Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines.

To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

Our MK2 Crew Lander mission will demonstrate the lander's core capabilities – including the privately funded BE-7 landing engine, precision landing sensors, and integrated power and propulsion architecture – as a precursor to certifying the vehicle for use by NASA as part of the Artemis lunar exploration program.

The team building this vehicle is rethinking how space systems are designed, with a high-performance architecture, efficient reusability, and rapid design iteration.

Join our team and pave the road to a permanent lunar presence

As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will work to design, analyze, build, test, integrate, deliver, and operate fluids and propulsion subsystems on Lunar landers.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, communication skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.

Passion for our mission and vision is required
    Special Mentions
    Relocation provided
Occasional travel up to 15% of the time

    1st Shift: 8am – 5pm

Interviews will include a technical assessment

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Complete life cycle of the valves from definition, interfaces, conceptual design, detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and

    operation
Design the next generation of cryogenic valves for use on our Lunar program and perform 1st order analyses to verify your designs
Build Lunar vehicles in CAD by modeling valves, propulsion elements, sensors, piping, and other equipment in the flight vehicle
Size, select material, and analyze flow and structural integrity under pressure, vibration, temperature, and mechanical loads
Work with suppliers or Blue Origin groups to identify and procure components
Work with support organizations to procure, fabricate, and install flight hardware

    Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field
2+ years of experience in valve and or mechanical+fluids component design
    Experience designing parts in CREO
Ability to apply GD&T to create manufacturable, high performing component drawings
Experience using design analysis tools such as ANSYS and Thermal Desktop to evaluate the performance of your designs
Ability to define and support testing of your design, conduct data analysis and iterate your design
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of collaboration and inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

    Desired:
Familiarity with propulsion and fluid system components (i.e. valves, regulators and pumps for cryogenics, propellants, and other fluids)
    Advanced Engineering degree
Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerance
Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $89,820-$125,748
Compensation range for on site CA applicants is $89,820-$125,748
    Other site ranges may differ
