- Collaborate with the therapeutic team, working closely with counselors and case managers.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents, adhering to established policies and procedures. Coordinate with the case management team to track family progress. Motivate and assist clients in achieving their self-sufficiency goals.
- Maintain accurate progress documentation in electronic systems for team reference.
- Monitor residential areas for security, conduct regular checks, and manage visitor access as per protocols. Take necessary actions during emergencies and escalate issues as needed.
- Address resident safety and health concerns promptly. Conduct room inspections, administer necessary tests, and manage medication access.
- Communicate effectively with staff across shifts, following established communication protocols. Rotate responsibilities such as front desk monitoring, inventory management, and other duties as required.
- Provide guidance and support for any residential challenges that arise, ensuring alignment with Metropolitan Ministries' mission and values.
- Intervene in crisis situations proactively to resolve conflicts with clients.
- Represent the organization after hours, welcoming volunteers, donors, visitors, and partners at meal sites. Uphold a positive image of Metropolitan Ministries and set a welcoming tone.
- Contribute to team and organizational goals, attend relevant events and seminars, and support various tasks as assigned. Participate in holiday initiatives and fundraising events when necessary.

Job Function:
Provide essential support and assistance to residents, ensuring a secure and healthy living environment as they strive for self-sufficiency. Address residential issues promptly and professionally to maintain a safe space for all.
Key Responsibilities:
Education and Experience:
Completion of High School Diploma or GED. Preferred background includes training or experience as a behavioral health technician or working with homeless populations. Individuals with personal experience of homelessness are encouraged to apply.
Skill Requirements:
Must possess a compassionate attitude towards ministry work and feel comfortable engaging with individuals and families facing poverty and homelessness. Strong interpersonal skills, maturity, and the ability to handle crisis situations with professionalism and empathy are essential. Demonstrates respect for diversity in cultures, faith, and backgrounds. Ability to de-escalate tense situations and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy is necessary. Ability to work independently while following directives, organized, detail-oriented, and excellent in communication. Bilingual skills are a bonus. Training will be provided on electronic systems requiring basic computer knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
Effective oral communication skills, visual observance abilities, and capacity to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions. Physical, emotional, and spiritual resilience to manage job-related stress. Ability to move through residential areas, including climbing stairs for inspections.
Other:
Legal authorization to work in the United States is mandatory. Successful completion of pre-employment background screenings required. Proficiency in English for effective communication.
