- High school diploma or equivalent (Some college coursework preferred)
- Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting
- Knowledge of and ability to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong munication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other staff members
- Dedication to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Assisting special education teachers in implementing instructional activities and acmodations outlined in students' IEPs
- Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with disabilities
- Supporting students in academic subjects, social skills, and behavior management
- Assisting with the implementation of specialized instructional strategies and interventions
- Helping students with personal care tasks, as needed
- Supervising students during transitions, lunch, and recess
- Collecting data on student progress and behavior
- Collaborating with the special education team to develop and modify instructional plans
