SENIOR ACCOUNTANTThe Senior Accountant role is an important and valued part of the General Accounting team, performing various tasks to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Qualifications:

Required:

Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience in Accounting, Finance or related fieldExperience with Microsoft Excel and ERP accounting applicationsDesire to become highly proficient with process improvement implementation and use your experience with technical, managerial, cost and tax accounting standards to improve accounting processes and month-end Accounting CloseDesire to become proficient in FP&A by partnering extensively with our FP&A team and assisting with key monthly duties, along with ad hoc requests for analyzing business trendsExceptional attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication, along with the ability to organize and prioritizeAbility to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external parties to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and resultsAbility to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervisionEmbodies personal integrity and can be trusted with confidential mattersPreferred:Licensed CPAConstruction industry accounting/finance experienceOffice and Travel:In addition to regional meetings, overnight travel may be involvedResponsibilities and Tasks:Assist with month-end closing process, conducting research and making journal entries to correct account discrepanciesPrepare and post standard closing journal entriesPrepare financial statement supporting schedules according to monthly close schedulePrepare monthly general ledger account reconciliationsAssist with systems testing and process improvement initiatives involving cross departmental collaborationAssist with preparing sales tax returns and other corporate reporting requirementsAssist with financial, bank and sales tax auditsAnalyze and problem solve by offering solutions to resolve issuesDrive improvement in existing business processesPartner with internal teams including Project Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Payroll to develop and maintain positive professional relationshipsExtenstive partnering with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team to ensure accurate and timely data from our ERP system is correctly uploaded into our financial planning system.

Also partner with FP&A to analyze business results compared to annual budget, and compared to quarterly forecast. We estimate the amount of time spent partnering with FP&A could ramp up to about 50% in this role.
