- Organizes daily work load to maintain efficient flow of department activity: taking physician orders, scheduling, screening of patient's pre-authorizations, patient education, etc.
- Organizes and prioritizes workload through appropriate delegation of tasks to staff.
- Maintains department scheduling needs.
- Regularly demonstrates the ability to coordinate a series of requests with a high degree of accuracy. Understands and efficiently utilize established processes to expedite patient to treatment in timely manner.
- Demonstrates the flexibility to adjust schedule in response to "STAT" orders and fluctuations in patient load.
- Knows proper sequence of exams for patient and physician convenience with the ability to train and answer question by staff when needed.
- Organizes and demonstrates the ability to schedule and give instructions for preparation of exams for patients of all ages.
- Demonstrates knowledge of filing and order entry effectively.
- Demonstrates good telephone etiquette and responds quickly to incoming calls.
- Demonstrates the ability to prepare the statistics (daily and monthly).
- Demonstrates the ability to inventory and requisition supplies.
- Demonstrates at all times in dealing with the public a positive image of our department/hospital as a compassionate organization.
- Works with a positive attitude with all staff and outlying facilities, to make an easy workflow process.
- Provides direction and/or assistance to staff, patients, families, and visitors in a courteous and positive manner.
- Interacts with all ancillary departments, physicians, and nurses in a positive manner.
- Communicates with a positive attitude to utilize clear and concise information that is exchanged between departments.

- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- 5 years of clinical experience preferred or existing knowledge of CS.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and medical office/hospital procedures

Job DescriptionHorizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL & a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. Position Summary:
This specialist primarily focuses on referrals, outpatient procedures, admissions, medications and Infusion prior authorizations. Initiates and promotes payment and establishes reimbursement expectations for procedures, treatments and medications to be administered. Initiate strategies to recoup funds through the appeal process for denials in appropriate time frames.
