Job DescriptionSUNWEST AVIATION HAS BEEN A FAMILY OPERATION SINCE 1987. Located in beautiful San Luis Obispo, SunWest Aviation is a flight school and executive air charter specialist.
FLIGHT SCHOOL Our flight school boasts a fleet of eight aircraft, and currently keeps four to six instructors on staff in addition to our office staff. SunWest Aviation Flight School is open 9am-5pm, 7 days a week. These are the hours our office is staffed; flights may occur at any time of any day given they are booked properly in advance. Aircraft maintenance does not need to occur during this time either, so maintenance hours are flexible.
EXECUTIVE AIR CHARTER SPECIALIST From 1989 to present, we have catered to a growing number of businesses and individuals in the Santa Barbara & Santa Ynez areas who experience a level of service and reliability that is simply no longer a part of airline or automobile travel.
WHY SAN LUIS OBISPO? Want to live and work in one of the most scenic parts of the country with perfect weather? San Luis Obispo sits right on California's central coast. A short drive from the wine country of Paso Robles in one direction, or riding on the sand dunes of Pismo Beach in the other. An hour from Santa Barbara to the south and an hour from Big Sur to the north. San Luis Obispo is a college town with an reasonable cost of living, amazing weather, and an excellent lifestyle.
YOUR ROLE You will work independently to run our shop: performing inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance on piston flight training aircraft and privately owned airplanes. The successful candidate will possess the appropriate personality to multi-task and run the shop, while maintaining a constant focus on safety and quality. Technicians will need to adhere to the maintenance and manufacturer manuals, and make safety-focused decisions on a day to day basis.
