Summary:
Nami Georgia, is a nonprofit organization that empowers affiliates to provide advocacy, education, support and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Finance Manager works closely with theExecutive Director, the contracted accountant, Treasurer, and the Finance Committee to develop, manage, and oversee the annual budget and the investment of revenues and donations.
The position will review financial reports, monitor accounts, prepare activity reports and financial forecasts, lead the annual financial review process, and tax return preparation, and serve as the primary contact for the annual financial review.
The position investigates ways to improve profitability and analyze markets to investigate and carry out strategies to raise capital and explore social enterprise opportunities.
The position is responsible for financial reporting to staff, the Board of Directors, and grant funders and assists the Executive Director and program managers with preparing the annual budget.
The position will collaborate with the Executive Director to assist in human resource management areas:personnel files, payroll, time clock, employee benefits, annual benefit renewals, and tax filings and reports.
The position will provide general office and information management, including office supplies, furniture and equipment, maintenance and repair requests, office telecommunications, computers, printers, and networks.
Financial OperationsProcess a variety of accounting transactions such as invoices, payments, and expenses in accordance with organizational and contract accounting policies and procedures
Provide accurate and timely financial recordkeeping and reporting in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Stay current will Federal and State regulations regarding grants administration and audit requirements
Support with annual 990 and financial audit
Prepare and maintain all the schedules and reports required to ensure that all financial audits and tax filings are well-prepared, accurate, and on-time
Assist contracted CFO and Executive Director with preparing the annual budget.
Provide financial reports of revenue and expenditures by grant to managers on weekly basis
Process payroll and review timesheets
Enter payroll allocations by grant into accounting system
Compile information for annual worker's compensation audit
Carry out guidelines of board approved investment policies Manager of all insurance policies
Human Resources and Office Management
Maintain accurate personnel files using BambooHR
Manage the organizations employee benefits
Track websites and passwords for staff
Monitor the Ring, update door codes etc.
Order office supplies as needed
Other duties as required
Participate in regular team meetings and meet regularly with leadership Participate in ongoing continuous quality improvement and quality assurance activities for departments and programs Other duties as assigned
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Ability)
Minimum 5 years experience in Accounting (required), 7+ preferred
Associates degree in Accounting or related field, bachelor's preferred
Sophisticated understanding of day-to-day accounting processes, general ledger work and detailed budget processes
Proficiency with google drive, QuickBooks and excel
Experience implementing budgets to departments and tracking of expenses Interest and desire in serving non-profit sector
Highly organized, with a "can-do" attitude to juggling various tasks
Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles and non-profit accounting
Communicate professionally with strong written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational skills include attention to detail and managing multiple ongoing projects.
Ability to prioritize and problem-solve effectively Ability to initiate projects and work independently to meet program deliverables and deadlines
Ability and willingness to travel within the State of Georgia. This requires a valid Georgia driver's license, proof of current auto insurance, and reliable means of transportation
Able to occasionally lift more than 20 pounds
