- Responsible for Safety and Environmental compliance for our California, Nevada, Oregon, and Utah operations.
- Participate in the information gathering and analysis process for safety performance metrics, incidents, and interactions.
- Collaborate with safety specialists and operations management on initiatives to minimize and mitigate risk.
- Establish and maintain effective business and working relationships with internal and external personnel to accomplish mutual objectives.
- Lead incident investigations at times, completing Root Cause analysis, and drafting Corrective Action reports.
- Plan, organize, schedule and conduct Field Safety Interactions with crews across multiple states.
- Present results of Field Interactions with internal and external personnel in various settings using the best means of communication.
- Identify best practices to improve the Field Interaction program and assist with revisions as necessary.
- Keep apprised of new rules and regulations that affect company operations. Assist in interpreting and applying the changes efficiently.
- Audit the day-to-day performance of field personnel to ensure safety and environmental compliance to operating rules, safe operating procedures, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
- Associate degree and/or bachelor's degree
- OSHA 10 / 30 - Certified preferred / Train the Trainer certifications in roadway construction.
- Relevant EHS or equivalent qualifications or certifications (BCSP, CSP, CIH, CSP) a plus
- Well versed in relevant EHS legislation and regulation that affects construction projects and employees.
- Well-developed research and report writing skills.
- Comprehensive investigative incident/accident skills
- High level of personal integrity, ethics, initiative, and strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Position requires ability to speak, read and write fluent English. Spanish speaking a plus
- Ability to multitask and work independently.
- Up to 100% travel using the best method of transportation.
- Ability to apply high levels of cognitive, analytical, retention and reasoning.
- Excellent communication skills used within any social context.
- Can stand, sit, walk, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, hear, taste and smell.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsible for recognizing and evaluating safety and environmental risks for field operations, and for implementing control measures that are designed to mitigate those risks resulting from human error and equipment operation.
Serve as a safety resource for field employees matrix reporting directly to the Director of EH&S-InfraStripe and indirectly to the General Managers of our West Coast affiliates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESJOB REQUIREMENTS
* - 5 Plus years relative safety experience - Construction/Highway
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
This position will be based in Reno, NV at our Nevada Barricade & Sign location and extensive travel is required.
