    SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

    As a key part of the team reporting to the Community Development Director, your role involves coordinating the efforts of staff in the Building Division. From managing building code activities to overseeing permit processing, your work directly impacts the efficiency of the City's operations and customer experience. You'll also play a supervisory role, offering intricate support to the Director and handling various responsibilities as needed.     EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

    • Plan, manage, and supervise daily operations of the Building Division and Code Enforcement Division.
    • Develop goals, policies, and priorities for the division and ensure proper implementation.
    • Standardize procedures for improved efficiency in building inspection and permit processing.
    • Oversee budgeting for the Building Division and Code Enforcement Division.
    • Assist with staff selection, training, and performance evaluation.
    • Provide crucial support to the Director and prepare reports for various stakeholders.
    • Act as a knowledgeable resource on Building Code matters for stakeholders.
    • Review construction projects for compliance with relevant regulations.
    • Manage contracts for services and conduct organizational studies.
    • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices.
