Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with expertise in Medical Surgical (Med Surg) patient care.

As a Med Surg RN, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care according to the established policies and procedures of our healthcare facility.

Your dedication and attention to detail will ensure optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on patients admitted to the Med Surg unit.
Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments and physician orders.
Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to established protocols and medication administration guidelines.
Monitor and assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, laboratory results, and overall health status.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and appropriate interventions.
Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
Prepare and assist in patient procedures, surgeries, and other medical interventions.
Document accurate and timely information in patients' electronic health records.
Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control practices.
Demonstrate effective communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and colleagues.
Stay updated with current nursing practices, techniques, and evidence-based research to enhance patient care delivery.
Adhere to the ethical and legal standards of nursing practice.

Qualifications and Skills:

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Proven experience working in a Med Surg unit or similar healthcare setting.
Excellent clinical skills and ability to provide quality patient care.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients and their families.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Proficient computer skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes.
Basic life support (BLS) certification.
